Frontiers for Prevention Medical Assistive Devices
June 10, 2023
In May of 2023 we reached out to a community organization with a hope to share our vision for providing free medical assistive devices for Prediabetic persons within our community.
In June of 2023, our vision was clear and we have been granted $5K to support our community initiative! We are excited to bring this program to the Winston-Salem, NC area. If you or someone you know is Prediabetic or has Type I or II diabetes and is in need of a Diabetic Testing kit, blood pressure monitoring cuff, and/or a weight scale to assist them in the success of their treatment plan, complete the Registration form to be contacted for device(s).
While working in North Carolina, I had the opportunity to assess and assist underserved populations in the Forsyth, Randolph, and Surry County communities. What was gathered by data is 33% or 397 of the 921 responses, the # 2 concern and request for service-related assistance is Diabetes. The first major concern is Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) at 47%, 433/921 and in third place at 14%, 176/921 reports of having a family history of weight management issues. The goal of Ileah Institute, LLC is to develop a non-profit association to support community outreach efforts based on the needs of the communities, specifically within Forsyth County, 88% of the population serviced with this research.
We are honored to be able to serve our community!
